It is Illegal to deny anyone the right to be represented by a Union. FedEx drivers for ground have already organized back east. It wont be long before Freight/National drivers have a decision to make. Dont believe the anti-union garbage propoganda that FedEx feeds its employees. Don't let people like 10 speed intimidate you. If we all stick together we will get what we deserve. WML was a good company to work for. i never have said anything derogatory about them. For a private company they where a great carrier to drive for. I

Wanting a pay check with out having to work for it. Hey, thats why I play the lottery!!! I do wish there was better job protection here at fed ex thats the one thing we just dont have.

nagoose,I have to agree with that statement. Theres alot of nitpicking going on at our barn. I guess its because we are so slow, they have more time to notice why it took me 11 mins. to make a del. instead of 10.

If you don't mind me asking nagoose what is your hourly wage?

Everyone knows the price of health care in this country is out of control,costs,of health care services,and drugs only go up,never down.

If you really give it some thought you can see that companies aren't getting any profit from any of their benefit investment for their workers.
Retirement pension plans are workers getting paid for not doing any work.

With all that said,you have to factor your wage on how much your company puts into your benefit package as well as your hourly pay.

Some companies outside of our industry don't even offer anything outside of the hourly wage for their workers.

Now as far as the union.
All of your hourly,or milage pay,and your benefits have to be bargained into a contract agreeable with your company.

Just signing cards,and joining any union doesn't automaticly change any of your concerns.
Its just a starting point.

This maybe just my opinion take it,or leave it.
I'm a UPS Freight city driver just offering my $.02 cents on this forum.

Apo I think you are a nice guy and I like reading your post but this ain't worth a plug nickel let alone $.02 cents. Like you said it's your opinion and maybe you ain't worked for your pension but I have for over 30 years. Somebody has made money off of the work I've done so it sure ain't going to make me back up to get my pension check.

apo.in this day and age a company pretty much has to give health care and offer a competative rate or they won't keep drivers.union or not.The one thing i don't understand about SOME not all union members why are you such d!cks?I am talking about the guy who refuses to talk to any non union guy or when you pass one and wave they give you a look or ignore you.I have been on my route for 3yrs and there is a yellow driver and a newpenn driver who refuse to talk to anyone but a teamster.the only time they say anything is to bash my company or overniteUPSfreight.There are about 10 drivers from all diffrent companys who all get along and i even became good freinds with and see out side of work 2 of wich are union guys sure we have our debates now and then especially while drinking but they act like regular guys.If you are one of those non unoin haters keep this in mind my kids need to eat too.I give all unions my respect as to never cross a line so give me the respect of being union free.
