| | FNL is GREEDY
My fellow workers and I were told during the acquisition that FedEx was a perfect "fit" with WML because of the employee oriented culture. I have yet to see any of that with FNL. I know that buyouts take time but we are all getting tired of managements demands and not getting anyting in return that we were promised. The benefits are not any better with FedEx other than the life insurance. i cant get to specific on management. All i can say is that with WMl we moved the freight just as well as with FedEx. Management said that we are direct competitors with UPS freight and YRC but we are not compensated equally to them. Are pay is 2$ an hour behind minimum and the proposed pension were hearing about sounds like a bonus program savings account. Furthermore, FNL is going to take more money from us for healthcare. A 32
Billion dollar company deducting for healthcare. Somebody is getting rich and it isnt me.

Do you have different management or are they the same ones who worked at Watkins?
If your $2 an hour behind did they cut your pay or were you $2 behind with Watkins also?
If the pension is the same as the one we just got then no, it's not a bonus program, bonuses are based on things like meeting certain goals and the pension (more of an indidvidual retirement account than a pension) is paid based on years of service and your age, reguardless if you meet any criteria set for other things such as our bonuses which are based on meeting goals.
You nor I will ever be compensated the same as YRC, they are union and have a contract, you and I don't, FX will keep us right behind what they make and yes you will pay for your insurance. The cost is not extreme but yes again free is always better.
But they do "comparisons" with all our competitors which include co's other than just the Unionized ones. And as a whole we are not the top dog (even though they will tell you we are the best, just not the best compensated) but definitely not at the bottom of the heap either.
And lastly, yes again, someone is getting rich, Fred got rich, he started the co, the W's got rich, again their co. If you and I want to be rich, at least monetarily, we need to do something other than working for a rich guy and b@tchin about what he choses to give us. Having the union won't make us rich either.
Hope it works out for you and welcome to the boards.
FM

FM | I have to agree with you familyman, I get treated pretty good by the company, and well compensated, I worked for a couple of union carrier's in the past, they were good carrier's to work for, but both closed up shop; so here I am! My only complaint would be the health plan, but that does not constitute signing up for the union

Drivers the old days of making a living is over now you live on what you make. If you live on more than you make your in trouble, Its a personal problem not a company problem. Thats goes for anyone and everyone from the poorest to the richest. Live onthe edge you may fall.

FedEx is underpaying their employees pure and simple. The issue isnt lifestyle, it is getting paid a fair paycheck for a fair days work. Its not about "living on the edge" its about being able to put a roof over your childrens heads and feed them. You say that "making a living is over now". What planet are you living on? lol

Healthcare cost are going to go up each year until the goverment steps in. I have researched many companies to see how our healthcare program compared to other companies in and out of our industry. FXFE's program is not the best, but very competitive, and for the most parts, better than most.
Sometimes we feel that our raises are not the greatest as well.. but, tell me when the last time was you did not get one.
Grass might be greener on the other side of the fence.... But, the cows still $h1t on that side too..
