I'm happy with FXFE.. I chose to work for a Non-Union company.. if you have a beef with management at your barn.. have you taken the proper measures to try to resolve the issues.. phone calls, documentation, finding fault where policy was not properly followed..

Or do you just go home mad and start a thread.. I am not Bias to Unions and Non-Unions. I believe in a fair work enviroment and job security.. I think we have that here at FXFE for the most part.. There are somethings that a union will never take care of, if it's the management at your barn.. then how would a Union benefit all the employees at FXFE..

I myself am to the point I don't care.Just one Question why would the co.keep the emplee hand book on the co intranet ? I was told so they can make changes with out changing the whole book. Hog wash!I want one in my hand. How many times have you felt you've been wronged even by their standards? and doug it up in your handbook then went to managment them try to defend their actions but then you bring out their very on written handbook and showed they've done it wrong.Evry thing is top secret or so they can change or amende it at a push of a button.

Thumbs down

I will have to agree with you that every year I have gotten some form of a raise with FedEx. They have been minimal to say the least ( .40-.60 cent raise. This comes about to around 2-2.5%. Now, generally, core inflation runs at around 3% a year so in reality every year we are making less and less money. Were making more money on paper but value wise we are making less. Throw in health insurance deductions rising every couple years and we aren't getting sh$t. To get a real "cost of living" raise we would have to get in the .60-.80 cent range. (this is assuming if your hourly and at top of the scale). i just have a problem with a 32 Billion dollar company skimping on paying their employees. They can certainly afford it. ( This is my view at least)

The benefits are not any better with FedEx other than the life insurance. i cant get to specific on management. All i can say is that with WMl we moved the freight just as well as with FedE
OK, you lost me now, you were speaking of WML now you say every year you have gotten a raise from FedEx?? Which is it?

I can see your view.. But, they did not become a 32 Billion dollar company by throwing money around like it's nothing.. I make well more than the majority of people my age, and on top of that I have:

a secure job, good benefits, a retirement plan, a pension, a bonus program, good equipment, new trailers, new towmotors, uniforms that are provided to me at no cost, a really nice center, paved yard, life insurance, opportunity to advance, opportunity to transfer in the company, have gotten a raise every year that I have been here, have not been through a layoff, seen growth year over year since I have been here, information about the company (imformative and non-imformative) sent to me monthly for the past six years, all expense trips to Major hubs for education, rewarded by cookouts, given access to any information I need at any hub through the intranet about policies and procedures, senority, the ability to bid, and last but not least... a vending machine that stays stocked.

My father worked for CF for 25 years, supported the Union, believed in what they had to offer.. stayed with them through thick and thin.. blah blah blah

you want me to go into what he lost?

he started over at 55. with nothing..

I have been around this business all my life.. seen many mergers, many go out of business, many go backrupt, many pay less, many drive $hitty equipment, work in harsh enviroments, many stand on a picket line wondering whats next. My whole family is in Trucking, some in Unions, some not.. I've seen heartaches, headaches and good times.. I've also seen enough to know that I have it good where I am at..

Thats my view.

I agree with you gtrdone but the I dont think paying your employees well would be "throwing money around like its nothing". I just have a problem with the company not paying what are direct competitors pay their employees. The bid policy ...well there are no bids its all about favortism. I know that happens everywhere you go but i noticed with FedEx its especially acute.
