Howdy
I've been wondering for some time now exactly what the Teamsters have to offer.
The brainwashing from the company says that they only have to "bargin in good faith". That doesn't preclude closing the doors and opening under another name if the Union comes into the picture.
I work for FedEx Freight. Some of us old timers see the writing on the wall and see things devolving into something really, really bad in the next couple of years. But, I don't see how the Teamsters can help us drivers at this point.
What I see is lowering levels of Union membership, dues paid for no great advantage.
What could you offer drivers and dockworkers of FedEx Freight if we were to ask you to represent us?
Personally, I would like nothing better than to shove a thumb into the eye of managment where I'm at. Hard. And frequently.
But I don't think the Teamsters have the "balls" to force anything anymore.
Am I wrong?
I'm serious here.
