I am a survivor, and no matter what happens with my job at R&L, I will survive...Not only that, I have and will survive without the Union that dosen't give a damn about you guys...You union guys are the ones in denial, wanting some organization to take care of all of your needs...You will be the ones looking for a job when the union puts your companies out of business, just like they did CF....

I don't think so. I have spent 30 years trucking and 26 years of that was non union. Two non union company's went out of business and one non union company spent all my retirement profit sharing trying to survive. So much for your views on union labor. Now who put CF out of business is another whole chapter. You say The union does not give a damn about me, I don't know, What I do know is that I make allot more money now, I have allot lower premiums on health care. I have a 401k and a company paid protected pension under contract. I have much better health care benefits at low cost after retirement. My Insurance premiums will never go up for the term of the contract. I get paid for every second that I am on company time. I have job security and seniority respect. 26 years of not working in a union shop never bothered me I never felt the need for a union. I thought like you. Now that I am union ( I see the light) So no, I am not your hard core union Teamster. I felt it was time and needed and supported this union contract from day one. I am very happy with the out come. I am also a hardcore Conservative Republican. Being a Teamster does not mean I am a Democratic supporter. The moral to my story, Don't be so anti anything and keep an open mind. You never know what is around the next corner. |

Having a little protection in a contract does help. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
