pablum; trite, naive, or simplistic ideas or writings; intellectual pap.
I purposely started this thread in this forum so that we can address the overtime issue without some of the company apologists crying foul because I offended them.....This was the start of a thread Quote:

Anyone who is interested in reading some of the responses that my post got will understand why I won't post on their forum & offend them.

As far as knowing a companies rules and regs, I highly doubt most people know the workings of any company they apply to, union or non. You are going in, hat in hand, asking for a job, you need work. If you find out it sucks after a few weeks, you quit, but most people, my self included, go in blind, other than basic knowledge, especially union.

I've read a lot of posts on these boards referring to union people, more leaders than members, as being "thugs". I have been in the Teamsters for 35 years and have never met a union thug yet. I have never been intimidated by any union officer. I have stood up in meetings along with hundreds of others and stated a position that was not favorable to the officers, with zero retribution. I can only speak for Local #17, but I get very angry when I hear this garbage. This is just a ploy on the part of individuals who have an ax to grind against the union.

Had disagreements with him a few times and never had any fear that he would send the thugs after me or my family. In fact he was my best friend when I got my tit in a ringer and needed to get my job back. He never recalled any of those disagreements. I think those so called Thugs are like Unicorns, everyone believes the excisted but nobobdy ever seen one. Me thinks like Larry Retired, this argument is a copout for people that fear serparation from the boss's arse.

They throw out this blather and they don't even know what they are talking about, because they have never even met or talked to a union officer.
