One company starts with ousting the union and others followed suit. Now the wage standard has lowered to the point that you have to compete for jobs with illegals and other immigrants that will work for half the money that the job should pay.

I would like to respond to a couple of the posts here. I went into my company and soon found out that I was not going to get overtime. I had just put in over 8 years for a dairy company that never paid overtime, due to being a agricultural based business they were not required to pay it. But I stayed, the benefits were great, the pay was good, above board for a Arizona company, plus they have a good pension plan, plus a 401K. Do I agree with it, no but I make a real decent living at what I do, with that I am not willing to put my family and present lifestyle at risk and start all over again. I enjoy where I am at.
Next, I come from parents that were both employed by unionized companies, my wife is union, I believe in the unions, but I work for a non union. There needs to be a standard set and kept, because my friends there are many people that will work for far less and little or no benefits, I've seen it happen in Arizona. Keep the cutting edge. I believe each of us will bust our butts for our employers, and yes we will voice our opinions and concerns, but the companies have a workforce that they can count on.
As for the thugs, there are thugs everywhere, in the hood, work, hey what about our own government. There are a couple here and there, but don't judge a company or a union by a couple of renegades.

37 years driving a truck.I retired last year and what do I have to show for it?A very nice check at the first of every month.Plus my company's 401k isn't bad look see either. In all that time I kept my dues up.Even when I tried it with my own tractor I paid them.
But the worst was working non-union for two years.Pay was bad and alot of promises and just plain stupidity on both management and their drivers for putting up with some of the things that they were expected to do.If people don't start waking up very soon these companies will have drivers working for pennies.

I am just ever so happy that 2631 is so concerned about my pay... (My Substandard Pay).Thank you so much, with everything going on in life, high gas prices, high food prices, slowing economy, islamic terrorism, gay marriage abortion, gun rights, elections, drugs ,violence, etc, etc, etc.... Thank you for devoting yourself to my well being, and for your concern about my company paying me substandard wages... I feel as though you are looking out for me... How in the world can I ever repay you ? I feel special... |

How in the world can I ever repay you ? I feel special... | Its not you or your pay that concerns me. Its the fact that the wages & benefits of the American worker is being dragged down hill by greedy corporations.... I remember when bus drivers were paid good wages, that was before the Laidlaws & Coachs started buying everyone up & lowering the standards.
As for my being devoted to you, don't flatter yourself. You are the one that followed me here. I don't post on your forum because you told me not to worry about R&L and to mind my own business.....You never did answer my last post before I left your forum. I guess that it was easier for you to attack me than to justify the fact that R&L can afford to pay its hard working hourly employees overtime but they would rather spend the money on race cars & expansion.
braceface, I can't PM you because your mailbox is full
