And please don't even begin to tell me I know nothing of what I speak...10 years at Yellow with the biggest pieces of worthless crud I ever associated with makes me more than knowledgeable...My father was a proud 40 year teamster, but the work ethic left with that generation...they understood where their paycheck came from, and it never had a Local number on it..the guys signing on the last 15 years think everything is owed to them, and I can't wait until they get what's coming to them...and they will...in time...
You work for Yellow? It sounds like you do but I can't tell from your post. If you do work for Yellow and you're not happy, get the heck G O N E.

actually i work for roadway....why is it that people are so concerned about how others work? you only have one time card. you have your way of working and I have my own way along with others...everyone is different...I agree there are some bad apples but not everyone is "crud'.. there is about 10% bad and 90% good. you worked for yellow for 10 years and left because you dont like the union or you had to work harder than everyone else is... can I say...crazy...you now have a pension that you will receive when eligible from a union you dispise.and that will be there because of every single member paying into it..including those "pieces of crud"of the last 15 yrs of joining..these companies make alot of money and there making it off of those pieces of crud...the ceo of yrc is pulling in a cool 5 million a year plus...while the average driver makes about 50 thousand a year plus...big difference right..he makes all that money on our backs..how hard do we have to work? and how do you measure someones performance..when your simply dropping freight off and picking freight up..its not hard work to begin with.. most of the problems I see are piss poor planning on the companies end... some preventable some some not..then the co. will do what they can to place blame on labor.. not saying that labor isnt wrong sometimes but from what I see and experienced were all just there to make a living.. no more no less..with alot less pressure because of the teamsters..where a non union outfit has a great deal of pressure because they have no protection..we can speak our mind, work as we see fit to get the job done,as the company would like to micro manage they just cant..and the union sees to everyone getting treated fairly, which is where the grievance procedures come into play..go and find a package better than the master freight in the trucking industry and id bet you the teamsters put there hands in it...now what could be wrong with that?

HEY NOW!!!!!!!! After your sex change operation, we will put a lantern in your hand, and stand you up next to our Lady Liberty! You will be known, from that day forward, as Lady Resistance! We will place a plack by your feet, honoring your bravery! Here stands a once proud Con-Way driver aka. jakebrake12. He-she fought a valiant battle of resistance to the union movement in the year of 2008. After the futile effort was over, he-she was strapped to a table in the town square. Hoffa himself, ordered the gladiator to concede to his new king. With total disdain for his captors, he blurted out, " I'd rather be castrated than become a TEAMSTER sire!!!" Hoffa turned to the towns people with a gleam in his eye. " WISH GRANTED" he railed. And with one swift swipe of his dagger, a new martyr was born. He then turned to the hordes of Teamsters, who had gathered , to witness this monumental event. Hoffa raised his arm with Jakes jewels proudly displayed in his hand. Hoffa screamed to the crowd, " Brave Heart will never oppose the collective bargaining unit again!!!!!" Teamster Elvis out.....

I just dont get the people with the old attitude of " I by God knew what was a coming when I hired on with company X and they got every right to work me like a rented mule fer as many hours and fer a discount rate ta boot. It was sher good enough fer Daddy and Grand Daddy too. I dont deserve nutin better and yuew dang sher dont either." For the previous poster who wondered why you would complain about the wait for top pay when you knew full well what you were getting? In my case Conway was the best thing I could find that was not working 11 plus hours a day in my location. We were working 8 or 9 hours a day and the sacrafice of a little money was a fair trade for me. At a certain point I value my free time more than their money. If I work past that point I want Conway to pay a premium to discourage them from working me long hours for months without end. Unless that is they get to feel my pain after 8 hours daily. Yes I would vote for the union. Come on Devil, my soul is for sale!
