2631 i'm not a union basher. i don't hate unions i think highly about all unions. the united states is a union. alot of what you have an impression on is me and elvis goin at it.
i fought for the rights with my brothers at a former employer. i voted yes. i handed out cards and got them signed. i went to the hall every week and i saw what i see goin on here
i won't throw stones at the teamsters. i am not a teamster so if i think the teamsters need to stand up better for their rights, if i think the teamsters are selling their members down the "river" then maybe i should be a teamster then call for change.
i just know their are alot of teamsters that i speak to that are driving a glenn moore trucks on lay off ,trying to pay the bills. sure they are/have organized that part of glen moore which is being called yrcw dedicated.
its funny that you would seem to say i'm a union basher. the local 41 felt the same way because i wouldn't do their house calls. i saw the house calls as harrassment. it was turning yes votes to no votes. i know ,, stupied that someone would change in a whim , but they (the flip floppers ) didn't see that we where organizing for our future no matter about the stupied house calls ... so anyway the teamsters sent some big red headed dude form cali to my house and we sat down and had a 2 hour talk in my living room. at the end of it he said i was more union than almost anyone organizing.
because i think its sad whats going on in the truckin industry does not mean i hate unions. sure its fun to fight but all in all. where would i turn to if i need to fight for my rights where i work now ??? besides getting some bennies and some delay pay what would really change. i'm happy with my income as a linehaul driver for estes. i do feel that our (estes) brothers deserve ot after 40/8 i do feel that linehaul should get delay pay/ pentality pay/ etc.
but do i turn to the teamsters for a few bucks that is a good question. i don't know ??? i know my friends a upsf are happy with the contract they will recieve in kansas city. maybe that would be worth fighting for ??? alot of questions.
the only thing that gets me if i don't toe the line and go along with everything that the hall spews out then i'm anti union. kinda the way you and elvis have labeled me. ask questions or critize then you must be anti union like myself seeing the house calls as a waste and unnessary being labeled as anti. calling someone anti because they see what is comming in the future. whether it be in my campain in kansas city or as a whole with that terrible contract that was signed. then call me anti. what has/is going on is keeping me away from the teamsters. all the guys that are going along and not saying anything is really hurting themselves. i know you too see what i'm saying but will you agree or just call it union bashing ???
i would fight tomarrow if i saw that the teamsters where fighting for their guys now,, is bascially what i'm saying. be safe
p.s. my grandfather and great uncle fought their lives for what now is being torn down. grandpa is retired yellow and great uncle retired abf driver. both helped organized all their lives outta topeka kansas
