Our SCM informed the last of our full time dockworkers that to remain full time they must become drivers or become part time and lose their bennies.
What they want of course are for the full time people to quit so they can have a dock full of un-experienced young people slinging freight into trailers. I guess they figure they will save enough in bennies that a couple of major injuries or deaths will be a wash.
I can't believe what has become of a once good company.
All I know is that if the Union wants in, they have no better time than now and they had better quit dragging their feet because the time to strike (no pun intended) is now!
I will do everything I can to see that this happens.
