Seems like they are cutting their own throats. All this stuff does is raise awareness and curiosity about the union, and leave the appearance that the company is overly concerned about something they are trying to hide, or are afraid of.
Again, odd, but then again, I've never heard anyone accuse upper-level management of this company of being extremely intelligent. I'm just saying ..... | magicman
If Obama wins, the Congress will just shove the U right down our throat and we may not have much of a choice. |

If Obama is elected he vows to support the Employee Free Choice Act. This act of legislation helps employees seek union representation by simply getting the majority of people to sign union cards. No fear of retaliation from your company. This is hardly an example of shoving anything anywhere. If it is the will of the workforce to join together and form a union, then so be it. No more anti union BS from management. No more leaders of a union movement mysteriously terminated under false pretences. I'll tell you what congress did do though. They shoved this bail out down our throats. Way to go Bush administration. And you will have a choice if Obama becomes president and congress passes the EFCA. You can choose another non union company to work for. But don't get too comfortable, because it won't stay (non) very long. Teamster Elvis out.....

"Nobody shoves a union down anyone's throat sir".
H.m.m.m.m.....is that right? Then what happens if your so-called Employee Free Choice (a misnomer if I ever heard one!) legislation is enacted. Do you think that those who have expressed a desire NOT to belong to a union will even be presented a card to sign? Think they'll have a "choice" at all? Or that they won't be subject to intimidation by those who have become the stereotype for Teamsters by virtue of their NOT being able to express their TRUE "choice" in a secret ballot election? And do you think that the assumed "voluntary" majority who sign cards (obviously under no form of duress to do so....after all, Teamsters don't function that way, do they...groan!) won't have the union "shoved down their throats"? If that's the case, why do unions in general - and the Teamsters specifically - fight "Right To Work" legislation so dilligently? Why do they want to retain the "right" TO "shove a union down throats". And don't throw the excuse at me that workers should pay for representation....because in a LOT of instances, it's representation they neither want nor need. It's simply "shoved down their throats".
Sorry, but B.S. is B.S....and you, sir, are full of B.S. if you claim that "nobody shoves a union down anyone's throat"

The only ones that shoved this bailout down our throats to save their sorry a$$ were Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.
Without their complicity this bailout would not had seen the light of day. Go BS somebody else, and don't sound so ignorant. |

If you want to state facts, then state all the facts, not just the one's that fit into your agenda.

We have a choice to work for a non union outfit. Nobody in management puts a gun to our head to stay.
On the other hand union drivers can't afford to quit because then they lose their pension, which they probably will lose in the end anyhow. You will be like the United Airlines employees that are only getting $1000 monthly pension instead of the $3000 that the Central States pension is still trying to pay. With this stock market melt down many teamster pensions will be short of money and will need another bailout. Except this time UPS won't be there to rescue or bailout Central States.
I'll go on a limb and forecast that YRCW won't survive the Obama administration and may not even survive if McCain is elected. It may take 2 years to recover from this financial meltdown. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
