I know us non-union types can't post on the union forum. But were we also told we couldn't read what was there and address the subjects discussed on another forum?
If thats the case this thread may either be deleted,by the trucking board mods,or this maybe be my first warning since I became a member back in April of this year?
To get to the point.
I went to the union forum, and read about the IBT & TDU debate.
Union posters woundered why J.Hoffa jr. didn't come to the debate himself?
For what its worth as former Teamster heres my opinon.
Either he felt he wouldn't be a good debater,or doesn't think enough people will support the TDU seeing this is an underground faction, mostly know by union truckers.
The trucking division of the Teamsters union is shrinking with a very few union trucking companies remaining, and not really growing like they did in years past.
The Teamsters are still organizing schools, hospitals, and other types of businesses, outside of trucking.
So if union trucking dies out,the Teamsters union will still be alive and well,to take care of their own in their organization.
The Teamsters have grown to the place that they don't need trucking the way they did when they originaly started out.
Well this is my take,I'm sure theres more to this election than meets the eye of us truckers, but the high ups in the Teamsters will always take care of themselves.
The next union trucking contract could be a sell out with a hand full of union companies remaining?
