Chuckles got it right the Teamsters are splitting up. Thats exactly whats been going on in the rank and file, since all of the union LTL companies have gone out, merged, and been taken over by Yellow.
The Teamsters union as an organization will go on with out any economic hardship,if they no longer represent any LTL freight trucking companies, other than UPS's freight division.
UPS is the Teamsters cash cow, thats the one company that they don't want to see go away.
In my opinion as I've already posted.
Next years NMFA contract may very well be the last.
Teamster LTL freight membership is a very small.
The two main Teamster freight companies management may very well be holding all of the cards in next years contract deal.
UPS,and their freight division won't have any part of these NMFA talks as they will be under a seperate wage, and benefit contract, thats being negociated in INDY.
I know all of you Teamsters keep telling me to hang on,but I've been told from a very good union source that the Teamsters are in fact splitting UPS Freight away from the NMFA.
UPS parcel, and freight may be Teamsters but they will not have anything to do with the shrinking NMFA contract.
We are all watching.
With next years NMFA not that far off maybe contract talks should begin soon.
Than we'll all find out what the Teamsters are up to.
