Con-way retirement plan is now OFFICIALLY garbage!!!

I agree,you should not rely on someone else to save for your retirement. We still have a good plan in place,the best,probably not,but it is a lot better than most.

Yep...It is true that all should be involved in the 401k.But the pension was the thing for me that sold me on this job.Supplemental income in addition to the 401k.And best of all it cost me nada,zilch. I guess there is no Santa after all.

yep i agree with Empire. pension sold me on this job. now its gone, and they really tried to sell that 401K in the meeting. it's okay, but its not great. 401K can really go in the dumper if the market crashes. :crackup:

AlwayzRight heres my thought...The market hits the craper and it will (eventuly)don't kid yourself.
It goes in cycles up and down. Hope you don't want to retire when the market is down...you the wife and kids and the dog all get pennies on the dollar for all your blood sweet and tears. 401k is a gamble on the market at best maybe it is there maybe not.
