AlwayzRight, I'm wit'ya! The 401 waa one of the first things I did when I hired on. I don't mind being in more cntrol of my future. At first glance after Monday's meeting, I thought "oh great, now the're screwing with my future". But after seeing the company match as well as all the goodies tacked on for years of service, I was sold. Of course it doesn't hurt to actually be an optimist! Keep teaching and some will keep learning!

if you look into roth ira's you will find that you have more contol and more flexibilty. take the 6% and match and start a roth you can always get to that money for whatever reason you want. you just can't use the interest.

AlwayzRight...ya might be SomtimezWrong. Like I said you weren't paying attention yesterday and you are NOT paying attention today. Yesterday they told you that if you were not vested (which you aren't with just three years of service and by the way...when did you turn regular, because that matters as well) you would become vested. You become vested at 5 years, so if you are 27 now add 10 years to it plus your 5 years means your point total will be 42, not 40. Secondly if you divide 42 by 85, you get 49.4%. If you stay until you reach your rule of 85, YES YOU WILL! However, if you are this disgruntled over just 3 years of work and cannot appreciate what you have (I know I didn't at 27), Man, leave the company. You are young and have time. Don't screw it up for the rest of us by being so upset all the time. Your posts are typically in a negative light and how much do you honestly know about this company having only been with us for 3 years?? I respect the hard work that (hopefully) you put in everyday, but there are alot of us out here who were working here before you had a drivers license much less a CDL. Please try to respect our company, your company. If you find that this cannot take place, don't ruin it for everyone else. I'm not trying to start a fight or looking for one. But, man, calm down for a minute and stop acting as though you and Detter collaborated on the business plan for this machine. As I type this I am starting to wonder if you are even from this company and aren't just in here terrorizing trying to tear us apart........hmmmmm

I apologize for coming off as though I was talking about the Union. I was trying to demostrate a similiar pension fund and what happened to it. I believe that everyone does what they do well or else they wouldn't be in business. Union and Non-Union.
