All I've heard is we are matching the current discounts out there... I've heard from R & L drivers we are taking their freight with 90% discounts so I dont believe its anything like the 90/90 bs you are all being told.

If you read around the chat boards, you will see other drivers complaining about FedEX and Conway doing this.
All I know is R+L (where I work) and every other company is laying off, except FedEx and Conway, who are hiring.

And where were all these other co's for the last year while FXF was cutting and cutting??

I seriously doubt they are just offering up 90% for the heck of it, now if other carriers were already doing it and we matched it that I can believe, and I say it's about time.

If FDX was offering 90% discount we would be hauling crap freight like we used to in the old days of AF. Those were the good ole days, used engines, transmissions, car doors, windshields, half of a car and some times the whole frame. That was before the weights and measure guys came along, those guys would probably tear a big hole in the shippers pocket now days if we hauled a bunch of stuff like that. We did get some of our freight back when they dropped the price which helped ease some of our fears of losing another run and another person somewhere along the way.
