This only holds true during a slow time. During a prosperous time it helps the taxpayers. More guys making more money paying in more taxes.
This does not sound like the same person who posts against giving the government more than you have to on the Political Forum.

Sounds to me like some of you folks just want to pick on the Teamsters. Most of you are the same ones who always gripe about the Teamsters. Doesn't suprise me.
I don't think anyone wants to "stop the teamsters", as you say..The real problem here is the Teamsters and the other folks who think they have a case here, are just plain stupified of the law..There must be some type of gain in pushing this..If the Justice Department, who is supposed to conform to Constitutional law, seen a loop-hole or any wrong doing here,I ask again, why didn't they scream foul play, from the begining..That's the real question here..The one that the Justice Department should be able to answer..The only reason the Teamsters have here,is because it's not in the contract..So the Teamsters said,If we don't do it,no one does it..Kinda reminds you if the kid who "thinks" he's tough, after, he got his butt whipped..Why weren't they so vocally against this from the begining..I don't think no one is griping at the Teamsters..They just want to know "the real motivation" behind their latest move..That's all..With Barry at the helm right now,any liberal, with any reason, can get something pushed through..Now..Is that right or wrong..He's like a kid in the candy store..Just like the rest..

Maybe the new Latin-American judge could see some of her precious time to look over this and determine whether any wrong-doings were done here..Oh..I forgot, she's in the club now,the hell with people's rights,right..

Plain and simple, there is nothing unconstitutional about the law..I agree with Benny,if Bush broke the law,and went over their heads, then something should be done..And..For 2 years the Dems have controlled the House and the Senate..Why haven't they done anything about it? Because it's working..

Lightbulb Sounds like someone doesn't trust Teamster motives

No one can convince me that some folks here are not trying to put down the Teamsters. The Teamsters (and everyone else who is against the HOS Rules) have already explained why they want the rules corrected. Looking for an alternative (hidden reason or agenda) that someone claims the Teamsters have is pretty telling to me. What is the Teamsters real reason for wanting these rules corrected? When you folks find the answer, let the rest of us know. Until then stick to the facts and not conjecture.

4 drivers driving 17 more hours a week equals 68 hours. That is 1 drivers job right there. 1 more person not on unemployment. 1 more person paying taxes.
1 more person with a good income spending and spurring on the economy.

Remember the unions are run by Socialists.

They would have Soviet style transportation in the USA. You remember, they couldn't move anything across Russia without breakdowns and delays.

The union think it will add jobs??

If safety has improved under the rules why change it?

No wonder the unions are dying. They have already killed most of the teamster companies in our business, I guess that makes them experts.

Then why isn't this current regime doing something to save jobs..It's not just this,Lifer..You know that..It seems to me that the current regime wants the unemployment to go into the crapper..So we will be more dependent on them..They won't salvage this suit, because it doesn't fit into their plans..Special interest groups are going to be a thing of the past..As soon as the government takes over..Get ready for the greasing,it's on it's way..Thanks, old friend, for the response..
