There aren't too many businesses that when you come to work they think they own you legally for a set amount of time. The less hours that they think they can legally own you the better. People died for a forty hour work week. and some just want to give it back...
You're supposed to want more pay and less hours not more hours and less pay...

When you say the Teamsters are forcing you to work less...It is also forced on guys to work more that don't want to,if the opposition gets it's way..

You drive more hours...you need less drivers...less drivers....less jobs.....more unemployment....more costs to the taxpayer..the competition has been running drivers ilegal since de-regulation and has cost good union driving jobs that did it THE RIGHT WAY for so many years....now you know why we have the CDLs...the Drug Testing and all the other BS because of a few who would not run legal...we ALL had to suffer because of it!.KK

I see the back side of this. I get more rest time than I ever did under the old law with 10 hours off instead of 8. 14 hour day max keeps you from logging off duty while loading. You know that no matter how much they sit on you, your day ends after 14 hours. No more packing your hours together so you can run on 4 hours sleep a night.

Running LTL on your 8 meant by the time you put your stuff away got to the hotel and cleaned up you were only getting about 4 or 5 hours sleep. When they added the 1 hour drive time they didn't move the terminals so very few runs changed. I don't understand why the IBT is fighting this either.

Interpret the way you wish sir, but that's not what was meant. I am on a 600 mile turn and I can log it in ten, but there are others that will not be able to.
I have two choices in mileage one is 600 and days one is 550 and nights. Which one would you take, it's more about quality of life then money for me and the new rule with 11/14 has been one heck of a lot better quailty of life then the old rule ever was...

Mr Hill, the reason I singled out 1 of the 5 backers is they are the only one that is directly involved in Trucking. I could care less about the politics and the courts in this, only why the IBT thinks the rule should be changed when it has worked so well. Accidents down what like 17% over 5 years and with more trucks on the road then ever before.

Outside looking in the answer seems to be less driving hours = more drivers = more oppurtunity for more IBT members...Makes sense, but where is the concern for safety in this and the quailty of life...Mine and others have never been so good since the new 11/14 rule...
