Default UPS, FedEx fire shots at each other from their trenches in New Mexico

Quote:
On Tuesday, the two opponents finally met face-to-face at a meeting of the Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce.
Quote:
UPS thinks it was a battle in a war to protect the rights of America's workers; FedEx thinks it was a battle over its right to conduct business without unfair government intervention. In truth, it's about money, although it hinges on a fairly obscure legal classification that dates back to 1926.
Quote:
For all its drama, the UPS v. FedEx skirmish in New Mexico was largely meaningless. Until the Senate version of the act is rewritten, this issue is stalled -- the bill is bogged down in committee, and it's unclear when it will find its way off the floor of the Senate. So for now, FedEx retains its financial advantage, with employees who have fewer rights to strike.

fed-ex treats their employees like garbage and they know the workers pretty much have no rights of their own to strike or stand up for themselves...i know they have at least two meetings a year in which the sole purpose is to talk negative about any union involvment what so ever....what a job!

FedEx is nothing less than a plantation owner with slaves. And the pathetic thing about the whole situation is that the government is allowing this "slave labor" to continue.

Your way let me choose mine. I wanted to be non-union. If I wanted to work for a union outfit thats where I would have went to. Why should you guys choose that for me. The majority here dodn't want it. It is not my fault your organization has cash flow issues. Solve them youurselfs LEAVE MY MONEY ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, you are non-union because you probably couldn't get on with a union outfit. Standards are a little too high for some.

Lol! Ain't that the truth? Speaking of slavery, Fed-Up just had to pony up a few million dollars in fines, for wrongfully classifying some of their drivers as contractors, thereby cheating them out of many workers protection rights as well as benefits. That might hurt the cash flow a tad. Not that they will start treating their drivers with respect. Gotta keep them down on the plantation, don't ya' know.
