Is Con-Way Sinking ABF & YRC?

I hate to be redundant but is it just me?

Less-than-truckload carrier Con-way says it moved toward "more aggressive" price discounting in the third quarter than it normally uses and started hiring back workers to cope with tonnage gains.

Much of the growth probably came at the expense of competitors, including troubled LTL giant YRC Worldwide. But it came at a high price. Operating income decreased 62.7 percent and yield was down 10.5 percent, excluding fuel surcharges. Including fuel surcharges, revenue per hundredweight was down 19.4 percent, a steeper decline than was seen at ABF Freight System, FedEx Freight or YRC.

No one is sinking YRC but the economy,
My opinion is that YRC dragged their feet far too long to merge the two companies, there where two terminals , two terminal managers two or more everything in too many cities, Roadway staff was competing for Yellow freight and they both were the same company.. I point the finger at the company, I think either one of them could have survived separately and I think had they merged the two companies correctly and swiftly, they would not be having the problems they are today. I blame YRC for the mess they are in...

With 18% over capacity in the USA LTL sector, everybody is after YRC freight or FEDEX's or Conways or UPSF or anybody else, 24/7
Sad but thats the way business is, and it's cruel sometimes

Sometimes you are getting your *** kicked, some times you are kicking ***.... and YRC has delivered a many *** kickings over the years themselves.

No you're not alone, there are many delusional people who think as you do. There are many at work who seem to walk around with blinders on, they think the stocks will hit $20 in the next 3 months, all our customers will flock back after they find out what assholes cnw and fedex are and all our debt will be wiped out by the master workings of BZ. Time to snap out of it joe and accept reality for what it is, YRC is done!

jeff, i think you have your history a bit skewed. to my recollection, it was yellow sales staff going around under bidding freight from rdwy's customers. it's all spilled milk at this point, but let's not re-write history.

you got that right. then thay buy out USF and close some of it down ? do thay do this to make them look like the number trucking company???
