Not worth playing the blame game when customers are the ones suffering.

“Nope – Apple is the one who can talk about their App Store.”
a reliable source in saying that it was “AT&T that objected to Google Voice apps for the iPhone. It’s that simple.” And I myself suspect that the blame lies largely with AT&T.
AT&T would be foolish to paint a bulls-eye on Apple as it tries to extend its incredibly valuable exclusive iPhone contract, but it’s doing what it can to deflect a few of the blows coming from its frustrated customers.
AT&T: Don’t Blame Us For The iPhone’s Google Voice Ban

I love my iPhone and believe they are both to blame. They are two companies that are very restrictive.

Apple has always been very very strict at what they allow in their world.
(Who can make products for them both hardware and software)
Why? Cause they want to make it first if not better than anything out there.

AT&T currently has a golden gem in the iPhone and would be foolish to give up potential profits away.
I feel they can't truly handle the amount of iPhone users in their current network.
They promise and promise an upgrade to their network and at the same time, iPhones are still selling like crazy and slowly degrading their network.

They also have sub standard rate plans compared to their regular phones.

Can you imagine if AT&T lost the exclusive rights of the iPhone. This might just happen and be a blessing for them.
I say somethings got to give, bring back the voice apps and upgrade their networks or discontinue their partnership when their contract ends.
