Default Abortion and "Pay Grade"

Hot Air » Blog Archive » There are a lot of things above Obama’s “pay grade”

Quote:
I’ll credit Rick Warren with asking both John McCain and Barack Obama about abortion. I skipped the Saddleback Church non-debate, but Jim at Gateway Pundit captured what has to be the quote of the election. When asked the point when a human embryo achieves personhood, Obama said that the question is “above my pay grade”:

Q. Now, let’s deal with abortion. 40 million abortions since Roe v. Wade. you know, as a pastor I have to deal with this all of the time. \Aall of the pain and all of the conflicts. I know this is a very complex issue. 40 million abortions. At what point does a baby get human rights in your view?
A. Well, I think that whether you are looking at it from a theological perspective or a scientific perspective, answering that question with specificity, you know, is above my pay grade. But let me just speak more generally about the issue of abortion because this is something obviously the country wrestles with. One thing that I’m absolutely convinced of is there is a moral and ethical content to this issue. So I think that anybody who tries to deny the moral difficulties and gravity of the abortion issue I think is not paying attention. So that would be point number one.
Above my pay grade, so he would be able to answer if he got a higher pay grade?
I have a great idea, lets keep him at the pay grade he is currently at.

Talk about a typical non answer. It sounded to me as though he wanted BHO to give his opinion on the issue. He was not asked to detail the meaning of life, just his opinion on the subject, and couldn't answer, because, if he answered with the way he has voted on the issue, he would of had a hard time justifying that with his religion?

Barack Obama Campaign Changes Its Story on Abortion-Infanticide Votes

Quote:
The Barack Obama campaign is changing its story again about why the pro-abortion presidential candidate voted against a bill that would have required adequate medical care for babies who survive botched abortions. The infanticide bill has dogged Obama throughout the campaign.

In previous attempts at dismissing the criticism, Obama himself has said he voted against the bill because it supposedly would have violated Roe v. Wade and trumped legal abortions.

Next, the Obama campaign said Obama would have voted for the bill if an amendment would have been adopted making the measure Roe neutral. When the National Right to Life Committee exposed that argument by showing Obama voted for such an amendment and then opposed the bill, Obama called NRLC officials liars.

In a late Sunday news story, the New York Sun indicates the Obama campaign has changed its story again.

Now, the Obama camp acknowledges he voted against an identical bill in the Illinois Senate to the federal version he said he would have supported.

I believe what Senator Obama was telling the good people was only God is wise enough to know the anser to that question. This was a church group he was speaking before, I'm suprised that went over your head.

Nationally televised and the answers were not only for that audience but for the larger audience maybe obama didn't think so but in this day and age everything gets viewed and dissected.
