I hate that my first post is about politics, but I couldn't resist. I came on these boards to learn about trucking so I haven't really had anything to contribute until now.

McCain is probably going to die within the next 4 years. Do you really want Sarah Palin leading this country? If anyone actually watches this woman and thinks "U.S. President", may God strike me down where I stand. The most pathetic thing is that McCain is almost as clueless as she is on several of the most important issues facing our nation today. (for example the coming economic recession/depression) McCain even admitted that he's ignorant about economic matters.

As for the terrorism, I think it's time we stopped being such damn pussies about it. If someone decides they want to come over here and blow up, McCain isn't going to be able to do a damn thing to stop them. The only thing he will do that Obama probably wouldn't is go invade whatever country he guesses the terrorists came from, killing more AMERICAN soldiers and just PISSING MORE OF THEM OFF. I'm all for protecting this country from terrorist attacks, but thinking voting for McCain means that we won't get any more of them is just plain stupid.

Imagine a group of Americans decided to go across the ocean and kill as many people as they could. (the reason why they would do such a thing doesn't matter just imagine it) Now imagine whoever they attacked found out that they came from America and decided to send thousands of military troops over here to start looking for more people that might do the same thing. They are patrolling our streets, firing on anyone who tries to stop them.

How would you feel about that? Would that make you more or less likely to attack their country -- even though you have no idea why the first group of Americans attacked them to begin with? I'm willing to bet that would piss you off. It would piss me off too. The funny thing is, that's exactly what we are doing in Iraq right now and have been doing so for 5 years. An even funnier thing is, none of the people that attacked us on 9/11 even came from Iraq.

McCain can picture the war in Iraq going on for 100 more years. I would have voted for Ron Paul, but instead I'm voting for Obama if only as a better alternative to John McCain and Sara Palin.

I just don't like the "color" of the mans politics.

I have shown my source material and the links to back up my conclusions. I will copy and paste a section here so you may see the long list of polling agencies that are posting results and who is currently leading.

I guess I should disregard all these reputable agencies and their conclusions because they differ from our poll?

I have no reason to challenge your perception of Barack Obama as I have not seen any inflammatory comments against him, from you, based on his name, race, or supposed religion.

Regrettably we have many forum members that have bought into allot of the chain e-mails and have heard the attack adds and assumed they were true. They perpetuate these attacks by passing them on to other ignorant individuals. When the information is passed on it just makes the person repeating the bogus accusations appear to be ill informed and gullible.

All I try to do is challenge their perceptions and get them to start thinking for themselves rather than swallowing what they hear or read without verifying it from other reputable sources. It is about integrity first and foremost to me. I am not a genius but I do have the sense to ask allot of questions and look for the answers from multiple sources to anything I am unsure about or anything that seems "fishy."

Fortunately there are several members here that do have the sense to research their info and post coherent, intelligent comments that can be verified from the source material they offer. I am grateful for their help in keeping the discussions above board and trying to keep the info being offered based in facts rather than rhetoric.

I said nothing of the sort. My point is that there is a general disconnect as to why we were targeted. Has nothing to do with our freedom or our culture, it's our foreign policy, which includes every president since at least Reagan, so don‘t put words in my mouth.

Understanding the problem is an important part of being able to solve it, something the right doesn‘t seem to be all that interested in. The Muslim thing has very little to do with it. Bin Laden was pissed that we were in, what he thought to be, his backyard. He called it a jihad to get dumb s expecting 72 virgins to fly planes. It worked. It was our foreign policy, good or bad, that catalyzed the attacks, not the religion. Religion was an excuse and a tool, not much more. Don’t take my understanding of his motives as defense of his position either, I think he should be skinned alive and dipped in acid. You should always know and understand your enemy.

Obama has been blasted for being willing to talk without precondition, which is stupid, diplomacy on every level is important. McCain says he won’t even sit down with Spain, a NATO ally for God’s sake. Our world opinion has taken a nose dive in the last 8 years, and it’s no wonder. To much “shooting from the hip” going on for a superpower of our influence. We need a cooler head.

The thing is, party loyalty is such an epidemic that it has ruined our country. Republican or Democrat to the death is completely and utterly retarded. What about our country, and who is really best to run it? The slick Maverick who no longer is, or the guy who seems to have a good grip of what’s going on but has a different name?

Country first? Take out the party loyalty and propaganda, and I might believe you. If you haven’t seriously considered voting for both candidates then you are no patriot, you‘re a pawn, so don‘t kid yourself. I used to be excited about McCain, until he sold out to his party and Rove politics. I may sound like a Dem, but I’m for the best candidate, regardless of party. I have and will vote for McCain again for senate, but not for president.

Default the race card

It seems that every time someone says a negative comment about the Dems candidate, the race card gets played. Does the fact that the man is completely unqualified to be the President, enter into your minds. We are in dire need of a strong candidate to lead the country. McCain isn't my first choice to be President either, but he doesn't have a radical agenda as does Obama. Look at his history in Chicago. If you don't read up on both of the candidates, and only vote for Obama because he is a minority, then you are doing a disservice to the country. Thank you for your time.

Naomi Wolf The Guardian, Tuesday April 24 2007 Article
Naomi Wolf's The End of America: A Letter of Warning to a Young Patriot will be published by Chelsea Green in September.[/quote]
---

Wikipedia:

...Sunday Herald carried an interview in which Wolf claimed to have taken on the spirit of a 13-year-old boy and saw Jesus Christ.[2][dead link] The paper called her comments "more than a little disturbing," and Salon magazine called the confession "truly outlandish."[3]

Wolf's ideas and participation in the Gore campaign generated considerable media coverage and criticism.

Women in Islamic countries

Wolf has spoken favorably about the dress required of women living in Muslim countries. She observed

The West interprets veiling as repression of women and suppression of their sexuality. But when I travelled in Muslim countries and was invited to join a discussion in women-only settings within Muslim homes, I learned that Muslim attitudes toward women's appearance and sexuality are not rooted in repression, but in a strong sense of public versus private, of what is due to God and what is due to one's husband. It is not that Islam suppresses sexuality, but that it embodies a strongly developed sense of its appropriate channelling - toward marriage, the bonds that sustain family life, and the attachment that secures a home.
?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????

Supports rampant trampism in the USA and then goes over and supports the incredible repression of Islamic women.

...Just another America hater!

A complete flake & fraud.
