I guess I should disregard all these reputable agencies and their conclusions because they differ from our poll?

I have no reason to challenge your perception of Barack Obama as I have not seen any inflammatory comments against him, from you, based on his name, race, or supposed religion.

Regrettably we have many forum members that have bought into allot of the chain e-mails and have heard the attack adds and assumed they were true. They perpetuate these attacks by passing them on to other ignorant individuals. When the information is passed on it just makes the person repeating the bogus accusations appear to be ill informed and gullible.

All I try to do is challenge their perceptions and get them to start thinking for themselves rather than swallowing what they hear or read without verifying it from other reputable sources. It is about integrity first and foremost to me. I am not a genius but I do have the sense to ask allot of questions and look for the answers from multiple sources to anything I am unsure about or anything that seems "fishy."

Fortunately there are several members here that do have the sense to research their info and post coherent, intelligent comments that can be verified from the source material they offer. I am grateful for their help in keeping the discussions above board and trying to keep the info being offered based in facts rather than rhetoric.

Personally I do not like either Choice in this election , and you mentioned that members do not do the research , and to a extent you are correct and that most folks who vote do not either , but others HAVE DONE the background work and they have like myself that Obama is not the person or Candidate that should become the next President of this country for a wide and varying degree of reasons.

I have logged in more hours doing research on both candidates from a wide and ranging variety of sources including left and right publications , public records , congressional records including state and federal , domestic and foreign publications . So yes you do need to filter through a godly amount of BS to get to the truth but the truth is out there and the sad part is the outright refusal of the Media that is fully aware of it to publish it .

I base my judgment and for refusing to vote for Obama for Many reasons as do others , Do I really want McCain as the candidate? no not really but I still would choose him over Obama for a wide variate of reasons , do I approve of all his policy's ? No

Are these two people the best we have in a country of so many people to become the president? NO

Are we stuck with these two as the Major Ticket? Yes

Do we Need viable third party Candidates that can make it to the show? YES

Do we need Change in this country ? YES

Will we get change in this country ? YES and in some instances we will not like it an in most cases it will be detrimental to YOU and I no matter who gets in.

DO we Need to Question Leadership in this country? HECK YES None and I mean NONE of the so called leadership have listened to the will of the people for way to long as recently exposed. And I say this because it is window dressing when both party's push through something so fast and get together and add More on top of the original legislation to please those that felt they were not getting their special interests taken care of , yes thier are a few that stood out and back we the people and many had good intentions and motivations but others realize that it is election year and we the people will be voting soon. So yes our " Leadership does need to be questioned and that is both partys and all within.

Should it be a pre requisite that to run for office you have to be rich ? No but the vast majority are and way , way to much money is spent to get into office that is the driving factor why it is delegated to so few and the vast majority of the public is excluded.

But yes more people do need to inform themselves and if they did do so the results might not turn out to the way that those pulling the strings would hope for , and that includes all electoral positions you want Change let WE THE PEOPLE implement change and start to clean house and start looking in different directions on who we have Represent us because it has come to a point in this country's history that those in office for the most part do not represent us any longer. And the different direction needs to start where the laws are made and that is Congress on the federal level and in the local you need to examine who you send to mayoral, gubernatorial , and the houses of your states. Change that Obama wants is not the change that many of us want and if you in honest research have totally examined not only his policy's that are detrimental on many levels but also his past work or lack of in his public life and yes you do need to examine the full spectrum of past associations and influences because that does make a person just as who we have affiliated and associated have shaped our lives also, same goes for past experience just as it does in your life when it comes to decision making and job performance.

Naomi Wolf The Guardian, Tuesday April 24 2007 Article
Naomi Wolf's The End of America: A Letter of Warning to a Young Patriot will be published by Chelsea Green in September.
---

Wikipedia:

...Sunday Herald carried an interview in which Wolf claimed to have taken on the spirit of a 13-year-old boy and saw Jesus Christ.[2][dead link] The paper called her comments "more than a little disturbing," and Salon magazine called the confession "truly outlandish."[3]

Wolf's ideas and participation in the Gore campaign generated considerable media coverage and criticism.

Women in Islamic countries

Wolf has spoken favorably about the dress required of women living in Muslim countries. She observed

The West interprets veiling as repression of women and suppression of their sexuality. But when I travelled in Muslim countries and was invited to join a discussion in women-only settings within Muslim homes, I learned that Muslim attitudes toward women's appearance and sexuality are not rooted in repression, but in a strong sense of public versus private, of what is due to God and what is due to one's husband. It is not that Islam suppresses sexuality, but that it embodies a strongly developed sense of its appropriate channelling - toward marriage, the bonds that sustain family life, and the attachment that secures a home.
?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????

Supports rampant trampism in the USA and then goes over and supports the incredible repression of Islamic women.

...Just another America hater!

A complete flake & fraud.[/quote]

So this is suppose to discredit everything she might say? She is not the only one making these observations. I understand the level of propaganda here at home. People want to believe their leaders, I understand that. But if we don't step back and take a honest look at what's been occurring we may find ourselves in a closed society wondering how it happened. Irregardless of what one thinks of the messenger one needs to look at the situation with sobriety. How can we deny these trends are manifesting before our very eyes?

Palin is a prop! A ding bat B.S. artist. I feel sorry for her, she is way out of her league. McCain is a man of poor judgement. Anyone who would pick that person as VP is lacking the sound mind needed to be a leader of this country.

I'be been away and haven't followed your latest postings p&d; but your last sentence is correct for sure in relation to everything happening in the world, this nation especially, as to trends. This nation and the World want to make Government god. As we get to become a Democracy instead of a Republic (Since the 17th Amendment-- 1913 or so); we've allowed "Two Lions and a Lamb vote on what's for dinner." Close to 50% of the people vote for Government to be the sole provider, the sole All-Everything Controller.

Look at last week's Bail-out/Rescue. First, 4 pages, and rejected. It comes back and passes added with 450 pages of PORK; now we're giving money to the Peurto Rican Rum Industry for instance. What has that got to do with saving overnight credits????

Our Monetary System is a fraud (something we both agree on). The Federal Reserve is UnConstitutional, and prints money backed by nothing but confidence. FDR should be dug up and his remains placed in a jail. JFK questioned this system, and he was assasinated......

We're told there will be a Great Falling Away from God, and that about 98% (I just made up that number, but it seems to fit) will reject him. As we get closer to this Election, we see everyone want to establish they are are the Government For Everyone Campaign. Obama has a Program for Everyone. McCain wants to put only Dems in his Repub Cabinet (algore, of all people!!!!, along with Buffit, and Lieberman).

We're Doomed.

I DO like Palin's "straight talk". But all se has done is her new assigned job-- parrotting McCain's Global Warming/ Climate Control new taxes. Too bad she can't be the candidate. I'll just go on and vote Chuck Baldiwn, who wants us to go back to the Constitution. All Palin's job is is to get people to vote for her, and then she'll be assigned a quiet office down the hall......(or to her Official Office, which is in the Senate Chambers, as President of the Senate. Cheny actually got that one right-- the VP is part of the Legislative Branch, not the Exectutive, according to the Constitution. The VP's office has only been in the White House since the late 50's.....)

Jeff, we need a smiley that has happy guy pushing the nuke.
With that said, I would like you to see this video. I think I'll just go fishing on election day because after seeing this, I just give up! Rupert Australian has ruined our country with control of the media. Fortunately you have given us a place to come together and sort out the facts from the craps.
