Instead of arguing "who taxes what class what amount"; we should be arguing "Why are we taxing income at all?" That's the question. What we have is like when someone contends that your wife is a prostitute, and all that's being argued is "What's her price?". The correct argument should be "What makes you think that?"
These two candidates are both losers for America. The worst part is, one of them will win. |
Hey Jimmy, you and I voted for the same man. It is really going to be interesting, because national polls have Obama up by 14% and here in Colorado he leads by 9 points. I think it will be way closer than that. I think people say one thing to pollsters, but when it comes time to make that ultimate decision, reality sets in. The reality here is that, either way, we are screwed. That is unless everybody grows a brain and votes for Chuck Baldwin. It could have been, in a perfect world, Ron Paul or Tom Tancredo or Duncan Hunter or a whole lot of candidates besides these two. Obama has some ideas that I like regarding fair trade and unions, but I just think he is saying whatever sounds good to get elected. I also think that it would be a good thing to have a black man elected president, so we wouldn't have to keep hearing about how racist we are in this country. He wouldn't even be in this position right now if that really were the case. But just because there are some out-and-out bigots, we all get lumped in the same bag. And McCain just doesn't seem to really have the passion. He tries but it just isn't there. I used to really admire McCain before he let the Rove-Bush machine run over him in 2000, and he never fought back. And neither one of these candidates will acknowledge the will of the people on illegal immigration. That remains the 800 pound gorilla in the room that is being ignored right now, but it still is a huge issue in the backs of most peoples' minds. The media won't say so, but my emails from ALIPAC and NumbersUSA show differently. And I trust these people way more than our media.
