after reading some of these comments . . . I am going to stop responding.

This stuff is too far out there to even debate. When people think that the dems want to cut taxes on the rich and that liberals own the media and that Palin is the best hope for America. .. I mean WTF? How to respond to that? (Although, there was a time when I believed a lot of this same crap.)

I understand the reluctance to vote "liberal." The first time I voted Democratic I whinced. But I was living in OH at the time and voting for Sherrod Brown made it easy. If only more liberals sounded like him.

These folks posting on here sit (as have I) inside trucks all day listening to one conservative talk ranter after another without any curiosity to hear the other side. I know. I been there and done that.

I have some respect for the Constitution Party members (and for some Libertarians), at least they have given the issues some thought, and are thoughtful people with ideas of their own, and have read and listened widely, and have some interesting input, and actually care about something more than just ranting.

But the Hannity/Limbaugh shouters? Clueless. Careful thought (not to mention reality) is not on their radar screens.

It is odd that liberals will listen to right wing radio and read right wing stuff, but conservatives will not tolerate anything that doesn't properly toe the conservative line -- hence, they know nothing about the left and have a skewered view of reality.

We all know the dems don't want to cut taxes on the rich. But what I would like to know is why they only want tax cuts for people who make under $250,000.00. That is BS. So you penalize those that make something for themselves and help out the ones that don't. And you know I don't mean the hard working. I'm talking about all the lazy as*ses out there collecting from one program or another instead of getting an education and a real job. BS. I'm tired of footing the bill for all the handouts.

Don't make assumptions. I don't sit in a truck all day listening to radio. I do the exact opposite. I'm out interacting with all kind of people and all kinds of views. I'm just sick and tired of paying for handouts, being taxed to death, and working my butt off for someone else that doesn't want to.
My favorite bumper sticker
"Keep working--Millions on welfare are depending on you"
If it wasn't so damn true it would be funny.

Careful who you call clueless. I get reality every day I go to work to pay someone else's bills. I get reality every day when my husband does the same, and I get reality every year when I pay taxes at ridiculous rates to fund government programs. The programs BHO supports and then the more programs he wants to get going mean nothing more than tax hikes for everyone. I also get a real reality check when I see people that can't afford health care but make too much for government programs. Stuck in the middle. Who's wanting to help them. Certainly not obama and company.So please don't tell me I don't know what reality is.

Wrong again. I listen to what all have to say. It just so happens I don't believe a damn thing the dems or BHO say and their views will hurt the economy and the country. Why anyone would support what BHO wants is beyond me. He says he wants to help the working man, but only the working man that makes less than $250,000.00 What a crock. He has no clue what a working man is. I might listen to him if he got his butt out there and got a real job making "LESS" than $250,000.00 And don't give the line of crap that he was so poor when he was a kid. Yeah, so poor he went to the best schools. Sure I buy that line too.

I guess I'll now get off my soap box and let the heads roll where they may....

There is a clear difference between the two Partys. Democrats support unions, OSHA, minimum wage laws, social security, pensions, etc. Republicans don't.
exactly, that is why they have done so much to close and secure the border to stop allowing illegals in. You know the illegals taht surpress wages.
Less than 3% of Americans work for minimum wage. Most of those that do are in High School. Heck, even the McD and Burger King in my area are paying $8.50 an hour, well above minimum wage. Minimum wage is a joke, the only thing it does is errode purchasing power.
Social Security a negative return on investment that needs a massive overall. You are better off keeping that money in your mattress at least youll have something at 65, 70, 72 or whenever you will be elegible to collect.
Yeep, Dems are for the working man, look at them as they try to destroy Joe the Plumber. All he did was ask a question and in two days we now know more about him than we do about a man who has been running for president for two years.

no, not everyone, but a lot do. In the USA you usually dont see 3 generations living together because they have to. You also need to look a health, food and other items. I will be the first to admit, there is no shortage of food, but we are an unheathy people.

Republicans are Fascists
no not quite. In a fascist society, govt allows some latitude but the means of production is still controled by the govt. Those on the left like to think that the corps control the govt, which is false. It is perfectly evidenced in the recent finacial market meltdown. Even though the left like to blame it all on companies running wild and deregulation, the banks were never in actuality deregulated. Sure on paper they were, but the govt told the banks who to lend too, under threat of redling and discrimination lawsuits. Then you had groups like ACORN appling additional presure. If we lived in a state where the corps controled everything, these loans would have never been made. No one wants to lose money they have invested and these were bad investments. Fascism is a branch of socialism. Further evidence, look at Nazi Germany, sure you could own a factory, but you made what the govt needed or told you to make, or else you were out of business, no free enterprise.

3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.
4) the DOW JONES hit a record high--14,000 +
5) American's were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacations overseas,
living large!...

But American's wanted 'CHANGE'!

So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress and yes--we got 'CHANGE' all right.

In the PAST YEAR:

1) Consumer confidence has plummeted;
2) Gasoline is way overpriced;
3) Unemployment is up to 5.5% (a 10% increase);
4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION DOLLARS
and prices still dropping;
5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
6) as I write, THE DOW is probing another low~~
$2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEIR STOCKS, BONDS
& MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS!

YES, IN 2006 PEOPLE VOTED FOR CHANGE...AND WE SURE GOT IT! ....

REMEMBER THE PRESIDENT HAS NO CONTROL OVER ANY OF THESE ISSUES, ONLY CONGRESS.

Rep. Ed Markey called for major oil companies to support a measure to give up $18 billion in tax cuts and channel the money into renewable energy.
The measure passed the House earlier this year but later died in the Senate, in April 2008.

AND WHAT HAS CONGRESS DONE IN THE LAST TWO YEARS, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Congressional ratings first hit nine percent (9%) back at the beginning of July, marking the lowest ratings recorded by Rasmussen Reports.

Ratings hit the same low two weeks later. Congress has not received higher than a 15% approval rating since the beginning of this year.

NOW THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT CLAIMS HE IS GOING TO REALLY
GIVE CHANGE ALONG WITH A DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS!!!!

JUST HOW MUCH MORE 'CHANGE' DO YOU THINK YOU CAN STAND?
You can't be serious. Democrats have a slim majority in the House and a tie in the Senate. The Repugnant-cons held majorities in both for at least the last 14 years. so whose policies do you really think brought about this mess? Stop being foolish...

In My book vote in McCain, And vote OUT all the rest and start over. Now that is called Change.
But it will not happen, what this Country needs is a third Party, But the leftest press will never let that happen
