Inconsistency. Another reason not to trust him.
I would like to think that someone out there has recorded the original change.gov/agenda with screenshots so that we can see what other things he's changed.
Don't believe that he's actually changed his agenda. He only means to make it more palatable.

Some here are really desperate for things to be afraid of. Remember that campaign promises often turn out to be just that.....I seem to recall Bush was going to bring....was it dignity?...back to the White House. That and a whole lot of other things didn't pan out. If McCain would have suggested community service you would have talked about how great ot was that he cared enough about kids to teach them something about responsibility. I don't see any community service bill passing but even if one did in no way would I consider it anything on the same planet as slavery. Unreal.

95% of Americans will receive a tax cut.

Just a look at the list of Executive Orders indicates that he did just that.

I would have been just as outraged, even more, betrayed. That is very unlikely to come from the Republican side since Republicans typically stand on the side of individual freedom.

There is not much to stand in the way of the President-Elect after inauguration considering that the represented will have less of a voice. I can't remember the last time that Ms. Pelosi voted in the direction of the constituents that communicated with her office.
Anytime an American citizen is coerced into service it is considered slavery. That is the exact reason that the draft was abolished.

in what the "new" wording is, it isn't a requirement.

Let's just say it is now optional. Let's just say it passes. Is it not a great idea? Even if you dislike community service, a college student is basically getting paid 40 bucks an hour. I think you'd be out of your mind to pass that up.

All we are all stating now is supposition. we need to sit tight and see what happens. it could go great, it could all go to hell, it could stay the same and not affect you.
