Says what the Federal government can’t do to you, but doesn’t say what the Federal government or State government must do on your behalf, and that hasn’t shifted and one of the, I think, tragedies of the civil rights movement was, um, because the civil rights movement became so court focused I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change. In some ways we still suffer from that. …
I’m not optimistic about bringing about major redistributive change through the courts. You know, the institution just isn’t structured that way.

But how do those same networks react when a radio interview [YouTube after the jump] surfaces of Barack Obama in a radical call for the redistribution of wealth, in which he laments the Supreme Court's insufficient radicalism in pursuing income redistribution and refers to the civil rights movement's failure to develop a better strategy to bring about wealth redistribution as a "tragedy?

All that was obviously taken out of context. He doesnt mean "redistrubute the wealth- 
He means " redistribute the wealth- 
which is completly different.
Of course, his wealth, wont be redistributed, just ours.

Must be a right wing terrorist conspiracy that got Obama to say such things , I am sure someone was planted by the McCain campaign back then just to get Obama to say such things.  |
