Question Middle Class American Dream Fading

Is there anything that can be done about the middle class losing the dream they once had? Wages are deteriorating and husbands and wives have both been forced to go to work to maintain family life.

The reason why the middle class is deteriorating is because they are up to their *** in debt and won't quit borrowing....

Thumbs up I second that

I agree. People need to live within their means and take care of their commitments. That is one solution to the problem and probably the most important solution.

I know there are truly poor people out there, I know people have medical bills that keep them behind the eight ball, I feel for these people and they need help.

Those that don't need help are those who bought double the house they could afford, double the car they could afford, using credit cards to buy tv's ipods play stations etc. Buying a Harley on credit when they can't afford a meal at Burger King just because they think they are entitled to it because they drag their *** out of bed everyday and go to work. How about those that get a 100k student loan to work a 30k a yr job?

Americans do not DESERVE a damn thing they can't pay for and that is what is killing your middle class

The only reason that I can come up with for the last 20 years is, that if you knew more than 10 couples that were not both working,,,They won the Lottery...This is not something that has happened overnight.. Two income families have been alive and well for more than 20 years now..Quit letting industries leave this country, and wages will resume and unemployment will decline..It's not Harvard Law..

I agree with all that you wrote, Jeff.. But when do the middle class get a break from taking care of everyone else?? Just a short one.. I'll take a year..Just let us breathe for a while..I'm not debt free, but close..Beleive me, I give my time every Saturday, to those who need it, through the Vets..But the middle class cannot afford to keep "footing the bill" for all these government "give-a-ways" or we won't be able to give this help on Saturdays..Where do we begin to stop.. I never will, when it comes to my time and what little money I can afford to give.. But this has to be managed better..
