It should be deductible, if you have a use for it for safety as per say weather reports, trucking industry regulation changes that are broadcasted on numerous trucking radio stations. Like safety issues or trucking industry legal requirements and changes that go on in the Industy that could effect you. I would think you could do it for those reasons.. Your using it to stay informed on safety and legal aspects of your Industry.. Why could you not deduct it! Just a thought to break it down that well it could be.

It is deductible - ask yourself this question - when I'm off duty do I take the radio with me in my private vehicle for personal use. I know pretty dumb question but it is legitimate. It is listed as a deductin in the Master Tax Guide from the IRS as long as it is not removed to a private vehicle when off duty. I don't know anybody so far that dis-installs their radio to put it in their private vehicle when they are off duty. The radio is cosidered necessary for the DOT workers for reasons specified; ie., weather, safety, emergency broadcasts.

You need a new tax lady. I've been claiming mine with no problems.

Please don't confuse the Tax Guy for RKMS - we are not the same.
