LITTLE ROCK - Maverick USA of Little Rock is acquiring the glass hauling division of Green Bay, Wisc.-based Schneider National Inc., the two privately held trucking companies announced Monday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. However, Maverick officials said the transaction that is expected to close July 31 will allow the Arkansas flatbed carrier to expand its truckload services into the niche area of shipping glass-made products.
"Schneider is the leader in the specialized glass transportation industry, and the addition of their knowledge, expertise and overall capabilities will be a strong complement to our existing flatbed transportation services," said Maverick Chairman and CEO Steve Williams, who founded the Little Rock trucking company in 1980.
