Teamster Delegates Stand Strong Against Cross-Border Trucking Quote:
Union Resolves to Delay Implementation Until Safety, Wages and Working Conditions for Mexican Truckers are at Highest Levels LAS VEGAS, June 28 Delegates at the Teamsters 27th International Convention committed the union to continuing the fight to keep dangerous Mexican trucks off U.S. roads until they meet the same stringent federal safety requirements as required in the United States.
"The Teamsters will not let these time-bomb trucks on our highways to threaten the lives of American drivers and their families," said Teamsters General President Jim Hoffa.
"Trucking companies in Mexico need to adhere to the same regulations and standards that our companies and drivers are subject to."
