For harried drivers stuck in traffic, time is money. However, a new report from AAA says traffic accidents cost people even more money than traffic jams.The report concludes traffic accidents cost New Castle County residents $570 million each year in property damage, medical bills, lost income and other costs. That figure translates to $1,089 per person and is more than 2 1/2 times the cost of traffic congestion.
