A man has died after a car struck him when he tried to cross Route 13 near New Castle.Police say Richard Delorenzo was walking Sunday night on the shoulder near the Route 40 split, then began to cross the southbound lanes. A driver hit Delorenzo, who was staying at a Super 8 hotel near the crash site. He was taken to Christiana Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
