I-70 rest areas near South Mountain to get upgrades

Two Maryland Welcome Centers along Interstate-70 west of Frederick will close April 30 for a reconstruction project.The rest stops are on opposite sides of the highway near South Mountain. SHA spokesman Dave Buck says they will be completely rebuilt. Future visitors will see reconstructed buildings, expanded parking and improved access roads.
