 Naked truck driver charged with driving while intoxicated

GREENWICH TWP. (NJ) -- When the big 18-wheeler stopped next to the police car on Berkley Road here early Monday, the last thing the patrolman expected to see was a naked truck driver.
Ptl. Steven Gurick was running a radar post at 12:04 a.m. when the tractor-trailer slowed to a stop beside his cruiser, police said. Gurick thought the driver might need directions, but the driver did not get out and come over to the police car, said police.
Gurick went over to the truck, climbed up to talk to the driver -- and discovered that the driver, whose name was not released by police, was sitting behind the wheel without a stitch of clothing on.
Gurick determined the driver was also intoxicated, said police.
The driver told the officer that he had started drinking and watching an old John Wayne movie on a TV set in his rig and had no idea where his clothes were, where he'd been, or how he'd gotten to where he was, police said.
