The Ohio 21st Century Transporation Priorities Task Force will help ODOT begin a new dialigue on Ohio's transportation priorities. The state must lead a frank discussion on how best to position its transportation spending to balance the movement of people and freight, promote safety and reduce congestion, create jobs, encourage responsible growth, and help build sustainable communities. As Ohio determines these priorities, it also must identify the fairest way to finance them, including new tools for state and local governments to partner with the private sector.
As part of this dialogue, the Task Force is hosting a series of open houses around the state to allow all Ohioans the opportunity to make known their perspectives on the broad spectrum of transportation issues facing the state.
The Columbus area open house will take place on June 12, 2008 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Rhodes Center in the State Fairgrounds, 717 E. 17th Ave. Columbus, Ohio, 43211.
