Cleveland's Regional Transit Authority will not have to make any cuts in service soon, thanks to the state of Ohio. The state came up with some extra money to keep RTA solvent for another 10 months. An RTA official said the state gave half of the needed money to stop the proposed cuts but that RTA is also proposing some internal budget cuts to stop the majority of the cuts. However, officials said if state funding is cut next September, RTA will implement service cuts and will raise fares.
