Angry how do you fight a DAC report?

i went though an orientation 7 mo.'s ago but i chose to work for another company after orientation was over. so the day i was leaving me and an orientation buddy went to applebee's to eat and grab a couple of beers. apparently some a**hole that works for the company saw us and snitched and now its on my DAC report and i'm gettin' screwed in the hiring process at other places. i got hired on another company a couple of weeks after the orientation so i guess it wasn't on my DAC yet. but it is now. is a rebuttal to DAC the only thing i can do? all this for a couple of lousy beers at applebee's.

Yes, contact DAC and issue a rebuttal. Tell them that you decided to take another position and never drove for that company

1. Write a professional letter to your previous employer explaining they have incorrectly reported information to DAC services. Tell them you want it removed ASAP.

2. Write a letter to DAC services and explain the situation professionaly and include the letter you sent to your previous employer requesting it to be removed.

Fight it just as you would a error in your credit report.

FYI, when you leave a employer, they fill out a form and it pretty much is a fill in the blank type of form.
This form can very easily be filled out inncorectly.
For example, an OTR driver can give notice to a compnay in writing of his last day..dispatch wants him to do that last final "hot load"..load takes him in other direction of Company terminal..dispatch says to driver don't worry..you can clean out your truck at the "drop yard' and catch a ride with another driver to get you home..we will send another driver to pick up your truck.

Somehow this ends up as a "truck abandoned under load" on your DAC report..

You need to write professional business letters to all invloved and tell them you want it fixed and any false negative removed ASAP.

More info here:
Roadstar

You also by the way, have the legal right to get a copy of your DAC, if you have not already done so.

They charge money and you have to send a copy of your CDL A Liscense.

Something I always thought was an open door to ID theft is you have to send a copy of your CDL A and SS card (at least that is how it was a few years ago)

Here they are wanting to protect companies from fraud..and they have you do somthing as stupid as this!!

Anyway..don't let the comapnies you worked for screw up your DAC by inncorrectly filling out the forms they send to DAC..
DAC only reports what these companies TELL them on these forms.

Unhappy

thanks for the info. i called the company that put the "yes" on the drug/alcohol question in the DAC report. and they said even though i was leaving- heading back home the last day of orientation, bus ticket in hand, i wasn't checked out of the hotel room yet and since they paid for the room it was considered "company property".
they had a "company man" at the hotel and he asked us both if we were drinking at applebee's and i said yes and that i wasn't gonna work for them and he said- "ok". but i think they might of fired the guy i was with.
i like the idea of a letter to the company and DAC but have no idea what to say.
