(KMOV) – The same winter storm that dumped several inches of snow over the bi-state area also is being blamed for icy conditions and an incredible highway pileup in Kentucky that was caught on tape.
CBS
Police dashboard video of a FedEx truck slamming into a car, just moments before it hits a police cruiser along an icy stretch of highway in northern Kentucky.

The accident happened Tuesday evening in northern Kentucky on Interstate 75.

According to reports, police were already on the scene of an accident along an ice-covered stretch of the highway when the driver of a FedEx semi lost control of his big rig and started sliding their way. The entire incident was captured on the police cruiser’s dashboard camera.

On the video you can hear that the officer sees the truck barreling down on the squad car. Audio from the tape seems to indicate that someone, likely a civilian, was in the patrol car with the officer.

The video shows the tractor-trailer sliding on the ice, turning across the lane and the truck’s double trailer slamming into the front of the car.

The patrol car is spun around and the dashboard camera captures the semi sliding and crashing on down the road.

Audio from the tape also seems to indicate that the patrol car was struck by another vehicle after being hit by the truck.

Reports from the area indicated that as many eight vehicles were involved in the crash. There were no reports of injuries as a result of the accident.

Speed seems to have been a factor. Notice that all the preceeding vehicles are moving along slowly in the far lane .......
