I just got off of the phone with PRIME. Although I was overly qualified as a driver, I was judged on my "fat boy" status, or BMI (body mass index). MY BMI was above their requirement, so therefor, I was disqualified from being an employee/lease contractor. This is obviously discrimination. What do you think?
I can almost understand a health care provider shifting gears on fat folks, but to not get hired on for being a little chunky is a little odd... but I've seen big boys out there driving, and I'm no where near some of those cats of great size and i could even have gotten a doctors note of being in good health. I have a lot of muscle (which is heavier) but they would not consider that. The recruiter just said... "I can't help you."
Pretty soon Trucking in the U.S.A. is gonna be run by the military, and we will all have to be in Perfect health. BMI....B.S. is what I say,TOO much Government regulation is coming into our industry.
they might be thinking of someone getting a heartatack behind the wheel but thats what the medical its for aint it .??????/ if the doctor says you are o.k thats the end of it
