Atomic Speedway to close gates (USA Today)

The landmark Atomic Motor Speedway, which bills itself as "the world's fastest 1/3 mile dirt track," apparently has seen its last stock-car race. The Roane County Planning Commission voted to rezone the track site to industrial to allow Crete Carrier, a trucking company, to move in.
