I recently (to the extreme) was set up on a Friday night into a Saturday morning turn run that ran me out of hours on the way home.

It turned into a 16 hour Shift due to dispatching and traffic.

I protested to the terminal and to central.
"If you run me straight home I'll be out of hours", since your running me to another terminal I'll be way past hours".

My reply was "it is done all the time", "it happens on Saturdays", and "that's the way that dispatcher is" etc.....

Dispatchers blame central, Central blames dispatch.

So I've been tossing the idea of filing a grievance.

I know it won't get me anything, but I want it to go on record that, I/we, are sometimes/a lot, purposely set up to run over hours, before our time off/weekends.

I and I'm sure a lot of others, would want it to stop.

Will it do any good.
Would you pull over and call, "come get me" on your weekend/time off, take hours somewhere on you weekend?

They are betting you won't, that you want to go home.

I think it is is BS!
