What we should do is take a pic of the freight like that on the trailer and call the customer then ask them for their e-mail address and send them those pics right then... Just to give them a heads up!!! I think that would be a great idea!!!! But... It's against company policy to be taking pictures on the dock if you are not in management. Per the audit people that I have spoke too.

If this was 1983, and I had a computer and a cool picture phone (I was 21, and working for Overnite and Price) I would be postin it all over the place. I might have been, it was along time ago, before we had pups. In fact most hubs had a dragline and not very many forklifts, so most skid freight was broken down and loaded on the floor in 48' trailers. Honestly, that mess would have been a cakewalk compared to what we ol timers had to work with. Sure, we always loose customers, but we always get somebody else's.Customers understand that their freight is going to get tore up, what they dont understand is why you wont fix it before it gets to their dock. And what really burns them up is when you dont deliver on time or loose their shipment, we loose more customers over that than damage. I worked OS&D for a year after the 94 strike.
