    Default Late Night Route Help

Hey everyone. I have been driving a lot of late night routes lately and as a newer driver I was wondering if anyone had any tips for staying awake and alert during those routes. Besides sleep do you use energy drinks? I keep seeing ads for the 5-Hour Energy Shot and am tempted to try it. Is there a certain food you eat that keeps you awake? Do you turn your music up and open the window? Any advice would help.

That 5 hr stuff is mainly B vitamins... B12 B6
it would be cheaper to just buy a couple bottles of the B vits. and a cup o coffe
taking oh, I dont know, 3-6 mixed B type vits., depending on the mlg that you purchase, would basicly do the same as the high priced Energy shot and B vits would last you longer.
the label on the lil Energy bottle says something like its 1 or 2 thousand percentage of the normal RDA of B vits I am not a doctor but I would also the info, don't take my vague info as religion though

I buy b6 and b`12 vits. at walmart
then when I go out partying, I take 3-4 of each, then I am set for the nite!!! go cat go
it works ! lotsa energy and its safe AND legal!!

Sleep and caffeine lol. No seriously. Stay away from the energy drinks if possible. Drink water. Take a lil 10 min walk. If you have a cell phone get a network of friends to chat with at night to keep u awake. There is also truckinboards chat line u can call into and chat. The number is 641 715 3715 pin number 168224. Check it out. Late nights are best.

    Adderall..

Really though if you seem to have trouble staying up late or all night you may want to be checked out for a sleep disorder called sleep apnea. It effects a lot of drivers due to the sedentary lifestyle they have.

Also please do not become a distracted driver by calling people on the phone all night. Its just as dangerous as driving fatigued.

If I had the time, I would pull over (at a safe place) and set the alarm for 30 min to an hour for a nap... that really helped... Also Books on CD are great! For snacks, eat fruit and drink water... it helps energize ya... stay away from cafeine.. when it wears off you are more tired than ever.
