I never worked for Gordon Trucking, but for others doing similar work.
Personally I think they are a very good and SERIOUS carrier.
The slowed down their company trucks from 65 mph to 62 or so mph.
They haul a lot of light loads (toilet paper) and they are running to the midwest a lot.
If you are going to just run CA, NV and AZ you better hope to get many drop and hook loads instead of live load and unload. Otherwise you will be driving all night to get to say Phoenix, and then you will probably spend all day unloading and getting loaded so you can be in LA in the morning to get unloaded and loaded so you can be in Sacramento in the morning, so you can get unloaded and reloaded so you can be in Las Vegas in the morning to get unloaded and reloaded, so you can be in Reno in the morning to unload and reload, so you can be back in LA in the morning to do it all over again.
I think they must have a decent owner operator program, because you see many of them running up and down the road.

You are painting a bleak picture River.
It is entirely possible to run regional truckload freight without sitting all day.
I have been averaging 2500 miles per week in 5 days, sleeping every night and home every weekend.
But, to be fair, we don't do grocery warehouses.
