    Default CRST & Covenent

I'm looking to go to work for CRST or Covenent. I'm a new driver, so I have limited experience in the field. How are these companies to work for?

CRST Cedar Rapids Steel Transport is a TEAM opportunity based in Iowa.
If you do not want to TEAM with someone you've never before met then do not go there.

Covenant is based in Choo-choo (Chatanooga) TN. and is NOT a faith based trucking company regardless of what they claim.
They have a certain Idle time % (like most companies) AND CHARGE DRIVERS $3.00-$5.00 an hour to Idle trucks regardless of weather and anything beyond the allowed Idle of about 30-40%. One can easily get to the idle maximum after a few days of sitting in traffic.

Then there are these as well: swift, werner, cr england and other companies.

You may get some training, you may get sent home after orientation to wait for a trainer. You may never get called again. It happens.

    Just know this:
Most companies will Pre-Hire people THEN when these people are in orientation the company begins the background checks and ANYTHING you omitted or simply didn't think was important on your application, you're then on your duff with your grip on the street to finance your own way home with a bad DAC/USIS report to haunt you. If you FAIL a drug test you're then DONE in trucking.

and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill
the experience bag before the luck bag is empty.
