truck driver vs. DEA

here is a news story i just read off of digg.com i though some of you might like it or have a few fighting words about it.

I hope he wins.I guess being a trucker means you have to be broke.So he had $23,000 in cash.Big deal.

Mabey the guy doesn't believe in banks, you got to love our government and all its many agencies, they didn't find drugs, or I assume stolen property, I guess its illegal to carry alot of money now.

that is crazy, is there really a law that says someone can not have more than $XXXX on them at any one time? if there is i would love to see it.

They were searching for "needles or cash in excess of $10,000,"... What???? I guess they didn't care if he had anything else??? Just needles and Cash....

When I was an OTR Driver I was stopped at a random checkpoint just outside Laredo, TX by DEA for "Illegal Drugs and Persons" (Obviously they didn't find either) They didn't care about cash until recently I guess...

I hope this guys gets his $$$$ Back... Of course the officer who confescated it probably already spent it!!!

well i recall in the state of Iowa your considered a criminal if you have large sums of money on your person. kinda sad when you have to prove your self innocent despite the law stating your innocent until proven guilty.
