An armed man hijacked an 18-wheeler, took a hostage and led police on a Sunday afternoon chase that dominated local television and enthralled throngs of spectators. The pursuit – winding its way through residential areas and down major highways – led to a dramatic standoff before the gunman, Samuel Scott Jones, 32, of Dallas, emerged about 8:45 p.m. in the middle of Interstate 20 in western Tarrant County.
