When General Motors' CEO was off meeting with the head of Nissan and Renault recently about possibly creating a mega-alliance among those automakers, billionaire investor Kirk Kerkorian should already have been celebrating.
That's because he has managed to rig a game of chicken, corporate America style - where he emerges victorious, maybe not financially just yet but certainly as far as power trips are concerned.
And while that alliance isn't even close to being a done deal, Kerkorian has proved himself to be GM's most influential stockholder: He is at the wheel, controlling speed and direction.
